Why choose it

The 11-blade iris gives you smooth, round bokeh that makes backgrounds melt away. The 180° focus rotation lets you pull focus with precision, and the 0.8 MOD gears on both rings work with standard follow-focus systems and lens motors. It's built to last with a weather-sealed aluminum-magnesium body that shrugs off dust and moisture.

Ideal use cases

• Independent film and commercial production
• Documentary and event videography
• Music videos and creative content
• Photography with manual focus and aperture control

Good to know

The metric focus scale is a plus for European crews—no mental math when you're measuring distances. The 95mm front diameter and 86mm filter thread are standard across the Irix cine set, so you can swap lenses without changing your matte box or filters. It covers full-frame sensors, but you can also use it on Super35 or APS-C cameras for a tighter field of view.

Pro tip: Pair this lens with a follow focus and a wireless lens motor for smooth, repeatable pulls. And since it's weather-sealed, don't be afraid to shoot in light rain or dusty environments—just keep the front element clean.
